How to Balance The Light to get amazing results!
On our photography trip, we had a workshop called Balance the Light. My professor, Caryn Esplin, teaches huge classes on this to many amazing photographers and it was cool to learn these techniques. I learned so much and can’t wait to show what I got. Also, check out Kayla Taculog’s Balance the Light post. She is amazing!
This one we had 4 speed lights set up, one on every corner of a small table aimed at the bottle. We put our cameras on flash and set up the lights to slave mode so our flash would trigger the speed lights. Someone would spray a water bottle as we shot and that is how we captured the spray!
Smoke bombs! we had a light with an umbrella and then some helpers set the smoke bombs off. This was a hard station and I wish we had more time. I feel like it was just kind of luck if you got a good shot with the smoke, but I am glad I got this one.
Here we had our fruits and juice set up on a coffee table and had quite a few continuous LED lights aimed at the subject. From there we poured juice and captured blurred and or frozen motion!
